Heart & Lung Research Institute's 'Breaths and Beats Ride for Research'

We were contacted by researchers at Perth’s Heart and Lung Research Institute (HLRI) who wanted to create a series of videos that would explain and promote their ‘Breaths and Beats Ride for Research’ - a charitable cycle ride that would help raise for vial research for those affected by life-threatening heart and lung health issues.

We headed over to Mudoch to start the shoot.

First up our main video which saw a series of scripted pieces delivered to camera, combined with overlay footage and some animated motion graphics:

We also created two short ads - with the aim of these being used on social media to help promoted the ride

And finally, a series of short microcontent that would help HLRI to post on social media.

What’s interesting about this fundraiser is that each cycling team will be headed up by a previous patient - which is an absolutely astonishing and admirable feat.

Behind the scenes this project had some interesting challenges - namely we were shooting for an event’s inaugural year. So we did'n’t have any footage from previous years that we could draw upon.

Kindly we had a group of cyclists from HRLI, kitted out in branded gear, that we could run a mocked up event on the roads surrounding the hospital. Shooting safely from a moped that followed the cyclists around a small loop, we captured a series of on the road shots which helped bring together the videos.

It is not unusual for GINGERBEARD Media to have these sort of challenges on a project, and it’s a great example that with planning and a collaberative work ethic, a client’s vision and objectives can still be captured and communicated using video.

If you’d like to chat more about how video could help your brand reach more people, please feel free to get in touch.
