Neami National - Step Up Step Down

Neami National support people across Western Australia who have mental health challenges.

They have a series of facilities that consumers stay in for a short-term period whilst support workers and mentoring peers help guide them.

Neami Naitonal got in touch when they wanted to create a series of videos that would help people understand their services. But instead of a more corporate ‘telling’ video, Neami wanted to tell stories from the perspective of those who had been through their services as this would help others feel more reassured.

We flew to Geradton and then Kalgoorlie to capture these insightful, complex and personal stories.

We created two main videos - one for each location.

Projects like these take a high degree of respectful planning and execution - both whilst interviewing on a sensitive subject and ensuring the edit stays true to their story.

We believe these videos tell a personal perspective to mental health, whilst also helping to showcase the work that Neami National do every day.
