GINGERBEARD Media at Youth Focus Talking About Go Pros

As part of our business structure and commitment to working within the local community, you may already be aware that we try and work with not-for-profit and charitable organisations.

One not-for-profit organisation who has kindly invited us in to work with them is Youth Focus.

Youth Focus is a West Australian organisation that aims to put a stop to youth suicide. They are a unique organisation that supports vulnerable young people in Western Australia by offering a range of mental health services. Their team of highly trained and skilled psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists to provide a range of early intervention and prevention services free of charge, aimed at supporting young people and their families to overcome the issues associated with suicide, depression and self harm.

In a few weeks time 10 young people and 3 people from Youth Focus will head over to Papua New Guinea to tackle a 10-day trek of the Kokoda Trail. It will be a massive personal journey for them to undertake and complete.

So how is GINGERBEARD Media involved?

Well, Youth Focus have been kindly provided with 10 Go Pros, however they need someone to pull the footage together when they return. So we offered our services.

But upon chatting with the organisers, we also decided that it was worthwhile running the hikers through all the basics of the camera so that the guys could capture the best footage they could.

So we headed over to meet them and run them through an hour long info session - which you can find recorded below.

We wish those making the journey our very best, we can't wait to see what footage and stories you come back with!
