Medicine Today at The Australian Dementia Research Forum (ADRF) 2025

When Medicine Today reached out ahead of the Australian Dementia Research Forum (ADRF) 2025, we were excited to help capture this important national event right here in Perth.

As one of Australia’s leading medical journals, Medicine Today wanted to record both the conference presentations and a series of short presenter-led videos from industry experts — providing valuable post-event content for their subscribers and the wider medical community.

Our Approach

The conference brought together researchers, health professionals, and people living with dementia to explore new discoveries, innovations, and best practices.

We covered the event across three days, using a two-operator setup:

  • One camera team focused on multi-camera coverage of the live presentations inside the conference hall.

  • The other was dedicated to capturing on-the-day interviews and piece-to-camera segments with leading experts.

With speakers’ schedules packed and time windows tight, we kept our setup constantly ready to roll, ensuring that when a presenter became available, we could capture their insights immediately. Between interviews, we filmed dynamic overlay footage of the conference to add context and energy to the final edits.

You can find a quick summary of the presenter-led presentation videos below. For IP reasons, we cannot publicly share the full-length conference presentations.

Technical & Creative Approach

Conference venues can be challenging — lighting and sound are rarely ideal. To overcome this, we brought in portable lighting gear designed to enhance quality without disrupting the event flow. We also selected tucked-away filming spaces to maintain clean visuals and reduce ambient noise, but also to reduce our impact on attendees.

Each presentation was filmed using a multi-camera setup, later combined in editing with the presentation slides from each session so as to create engaging, easy-to-follow videos that replicate the in-room experience for online viewers.

What We Delivered

In total, we delivered:

  • 19 short videos (2–5 minutes each) featuring presenter-led insights (summary shown above)

  • 6 full-length presentation recordings (20–30 minutes each).

This combination gave Medicine Today a well-rounded library of content — both educational and personal — for their website and subscribers.

Let’s Wrap This Up

This project was a great opportunity to support Australia’s leading minds in dementia research, while showcasing the value of professional video coverage for large-scale conferences.

If your organisation is hosting a major event or conference and wants to create lasting, high-quality content — let’s talk about how we can help you capture it effectively.
