War Market - Advertising Videos
War Market is a brand-new business in the tabletop gaming scene — an online platform that lets players rent out their painted wargaming miniatures securely to others in the community.
They got in touch with us ahead of their launch, looking for a way to quickly explain how the platform works and generate interest across their website and social media. With no previous video content and no physical space to show, they needed a creative approach that would make the idea feel real, exciting, and trustworthy — even if you’d never heard of miniature rentals before.
Our Approach
This was the client’s first time working on a video project, so we led much of the planning, scripting, and production process to keep things on track. There weren’t many tangible assets we could film — no warehouse, no team on-site — so we focused instead on capturing the experience their platform enables: gamers connecting, borrowing miniatures, and getting more value out of the hobby.
The visual style was clean and sharp, with a clear narrative voice to tie it together. We scripted a 60-second explainer as the hero video, then created additional short ads to work across digital channels.
What We Delivered
1 x 60-second overview/explainer video
3 x short ads – delivered in both 16:9 and 9:16 formats for web and social
1 x website banner video – built to loop seamlessly on the homepage
and a series of 56 screen captures; to allow the client to build out their website and post on social media
We also captured a range of overlay footage during the shoot that could be repurposed for future promos.
Filmed on Location North of the River, Perth
The shoot took place at a local tabletop gaming centre in Perth’s northern suburbs. The client brought together a small cast made up of friends and family, along with a curated collection of miniatures and we directed and supported those involved to create a natural and immersive feel. Despite being a lean shoot, the footage really captured the atmosphere War Market was looking for.
How The Video Content is Being Used
The videos are now featured across the War Market website, used in launch campaigns on social media, and are being rolled out as part of their digital advertising strategy.
