Chronic Care Australia - Service and Program Overview Videos
Clear communication is critical in healthcare — especially when explaining services designed to support people managing long-term conditions.
Our project with Chronic Care Australia focused on creating a suite of short, high-quality videos that clearly explain their services and programs, while also refreshing existing content to better reflect their current work.
This marked our fourth project with Chronic Care Australia since 2022, continuing a long-term working relationship built on efficiency, clarity, and trust.
Our Approach
Chronic Care Australia came into the project well prepared, with eight scripts already developed (with leadership, guidance and support from Claire at Scotter Projects). Having clear messaging upfront allowed us to focus on execution and efficiency during filming.
We filmed across two half-day sessions:
One half-day dedicated to filming the eight scripted pieces
One half-day capturing overlay footage of the business in action, including staff working with patients to visually support the services being discussed
We’d worked with Katie from Chronic Care Australia before, so the on-camera process was realtively streamlined. Our setup included lighting and a teleprompter to ensure consistent framing, confident delivery, and minimal retakes.
The priority for this project was producing a high volume of polished videos efficiently.
To support that goal, we kept takes tight and captured overlay footage in a more run-and-gun style. This meant fewer cutaway options in the edit, but allowed us to maximise output while maintaining a professional finish. Where needed, we balanced visuals with on-screen text to support clarity.
Katie also organised for a small number of current patients to participate in filming. We worked quickly and respectfully with them, guiding each through a simplified version of a typical patient journey to ensure the footage felt natural and authentic.
Creative & Technical Considerations
From a creative perspective, this project was about clarity over complexity.
Scripted, straight-to-camera delivery ensured messaging stayed accurate and consistent
Clean lighting and framing kept the focus on the speaker and the information
Efficient production workflows allowed us to deliver multiple videos without overextending filming time
Flexible formatting ensured the content could be used across web, EDMs, and social platforms
In addition to the new videos, we also updated Chronic Care Australia’s existing welcome video from 2022. We had filmed the original piece shortly after COVID restrictions eased, and some overlay footage still included people wearing masks because healthcare still had requirements. Rather than replacing the entire video, we refreshed it by swapping in new overlay footage captured during this project - ditching those masks for good.
This approach allowed the client to modernise the video without the cost of re-filming scripts or rebuilding the video from scratch — a practical way to extend the life of existing content.
What We Delivered
At the completion of the project, we delivered:
8 scripted service and program videos, each between 40 seconds and 1 minute 15 seconds
Delivered in 16×9 format for website and EDM use
Delivered with and without captions
Delivered in 9×16 vertical format with captions for social media
An updated welcome/overview video
Original interview content retained
COVID-era overlay footage replaced with new overlay footage
A refreshed look without the need for a full re-shoot
This ensured Chronic Care Australia had a cohesive, up-to-date video library that could be used across multiple customer touchpoints.
Let’s Wrap This Up!
This project is a great example of how planning, efficient production, and smart use of existing content can deliver strong results without unnecessary complexity.
By combining prepared scripts, focused filming, and a flexible delivery approach, we helped Chronic Care Australia clearly communicate their services while updating their visual presence to reflect where the company is today.
