Altrad x Western Force - Safety Ad

 

Project Overview

This project brought together two powerhouse brands — Altrad, a global leader in industrial services and safety gear, and the Western Force, one of WA’s most recognised sports teams.

Altrad wanted to create a 30-second promotional video to promote their line of safety gear, to be played on the big screen at HBF Park during Western Force home games. The goal? To connect their reputation for industrial strength and safety with the high-performance world of professional rugby.

Filmed in a studio with an infinity white backdrop, the setup allowed for a clean, consistent look that kept the focus on both the players and the gear.

 

Our Approach

Altrad provided examples of similar campaigns from other parts of the world, and our task was to create a local version that matched their global style — clean, bold, and professional.

The creative concept revolved around transitions — capturing the players first in their rugby kits, then transitioning seamlessly into Altrad PPE. With limited time and a tight filming schedule, planning was everything.

Each player had just one hour on set. That meant we needed to film all “before” shots in rugby kit, then all “after” shots once they’d changed into PPE. Every frame was carefully designed to match so the final video would flow with dynamic, match-cut transitions.

Challenges & Highlights

Filming professional athletes comes with tight windows — and the Force players were no exception. We had to move fast, capture variety, and maintain consistency in framing, lighting, and performance across all setups.

Despite the quick turnaround, the results were seamless. The final transitions landed perfectly, creating an energetic and polished ad that connected the worlds of sport and safety.

The Final Result

We delivered a 30-second hero video that played throughout the 2024 Western Force season on the big screens at HBF Park.

This was our first time working with Altrad, and it’s been great helping them strengthen their brand visuals and create local content for their global brand. It’s likely that thousands of visitors to the stadium watched our ad.
